Cass Brand beauty products—a Detroit-based small company with an equally small operating budget, came to Team Detroit as a pro bono project. The owner was seeking a redesign of her brand, that would emphasize her company’s organic and environmentally responsible principles. Designer, Linda Hamlin took a whimsical and natural approach to the brand utilizing a deep catalog of free vintage art. The idea not only accomplished the client’s goal of keeping ongoing costs low, but also allowed for a consistent look across a wide and varied product line that ran the gamut from baby to men, healthy skin to pet care products. Each product had its own unique label, and every product category had its own color scheme, yet all hung neatly together as one brand.
